MacPhail’s 50 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky 40% (700ml)
Tasting Notes
Nose: Full and complex. A refined sweetness opens with cut hay and wood oil, followed by a fresh green lift of sultanas and dried citrus peel. Gentle smoke drifts in, rounded by buttery, gooey toffee.
Palate: Rich and layered. Sultanas and dry winter spice lead the way, with a soft hint of mochaccino. An earthy root character emerges, wrapped in a cigar-box sweetness.
Finish: Long and composed, with a subtle whisper of peat and lingering dried fruit.
Distillery Information
Gordon & MacPhail is a family-owned Scottish independent bottler and distiller, founded in 1895 and based in Elgin, in the north-east of Scotland. The business remains under the stewardship of the Urquhart family. Gordon & MacPhail is the trading name of Speymalt Whisky Distributors Ltd.
