Yamazaki 18YO Mizunara is a tribute to the expertise of Suntory's past craftsmen. The Mizunara Japanese Oak, known for its challenging nature, was originally experimented with by the House of Suntory blending team under the guidance of the First-Generation Master Blender, Shinjiro Torii, and Second-Generation Master Blender, Keizo Saji in the 1940s. The initial taste test revealed a strong flavour and scent in the Mizunara oak cask. After being aged in the unique climate of Japan's four seasons and nurtured in Yamazaki, skilled blenders found a harmonious balance of maturation that tames the intense Mizunara character. The whiskies are then matured until they adopt the distinct Japanese notes of spice and sandalwood and agarwood.  Savour the rich blend of dark cherry, ripe peach, cinnamon, and nutmeg in the nose. Relish the subtle spice and notes of Japanese incense in the palate. And enjoy the long finish of clove, sandalwood, and dried coconut.
